WHAT TO EXPECT

Re-SOURCE. Re-WILD. Re-CONNECT. We know how tricky it can be to find a holiday that truly works for everyone — especially when teenagers are craving independence and would rather be on their phones than hanging out with the family! That’s exactly why we created our signature Teenager Trip, designed especially for families with teens aged 11 and up. ⸻ What’s Included Our Teen Trips are great value and all-inclusive, with everything taken care of — so you can relax, unplug, and enjoy the ride. Here’s what’s in store: •Lake swimming in crystal-clear waters •White Water Rafting •Canyoning (yes — abseiling down waterfalls!) •Rock Climbing with local guides •A 2-day mountain trek with an overnight in a remote catered refuge •Optional daily yoga sessions to start the day with clarity and calm We always pitch the challenge to the ability of each young person — so whether they’re just finding their feet or already bounding ahead, they’ll be supported and stretched in just the right way. ⸻ Where Hoodies Come Down… and Spirits Rise This trip is all about gently guiding teenagers out of their comfort zones — showing them what they’re capable of, igniting their energy, and reconnecting them with the raw, restorative power of the wild. We’ve seen it again and again: •Apathy turns into full-belly laughter •Disinterest melts into connection •Eyes light up with awe at what nature — and they — can do By the end of the week, hoodies are off, phones are forgotten, and real confidence — the kind that comes from doing hard things in beautiful places — starts to shine.

WHO IS IT FOR

For families with young people aged 11 and up, this trip is designed to spark confidence, independence, and connection — perfect for those tricky teenage years where adventure speaks louder than words. More Than a Holiday… La Source attracts a wonderful, interesting crowd — families who value connection, courage, and a little wilderness magic. Many guests leave not just with incredible memories, but with lifelong friendships. In fact, families often come back year after year — because once you’ve shared this adventure, you become part of the La Source family. There’s a special bond that forms when you: Cheer each other on as you rappel down a waterfall Dare each other to dip in a glacial mountain spa Sleep side by side in a rustic high-altitude refuge, watching the stars together This is where courage grows, laughter echoes, and memories that last a lifetime are made.

ACCOMMODATION

Where We Stay Our home for the week is a beautiful, newly built Outdoor Centre in Samoëns, nestled in the heart of the French Alps with stunning mountain views all around. Each family has their own private en suite dorm-style room, so you can enjoy your own space while still being part of the group. There’s a large communal area where we gather, and everyone eats together in the cosy Dining Room Chalet — it’s a lovely, relaxed space to share meals, swap stories, and unwind after a day of adventure. Meals & Mountain Magic Each morning, after a short, scenic 5-minute walk to the old Savoyard barn, we enjoy a hearty breakfast and prepare our picnics for the day. The food is abundant, healthy, and nourishing, with vegetarian or vegan options available (if you're vegan, we recommend bringing a few extra snacks just in case). Two nights of the trip are extra special — we hike into the mountains and spend the night in Refuges, or high-altitude catered mountain huts. There’s something unforgettable about sharing a simple, hearty meal together high in the Alps, surrounded by stars and silence. Want to See Where You’ll Stay? Check out the photos above.

THE FOOD

Food & Dining The Outdoor Centre serves fantastic, bountiful food to suit all tastes — after a day in the mountains, you’ll be well-fed and ready to relax. Breakfast is served from 8am, with plenty of options to fuel your day. At breakfast, a picnic station is laid out so you can pack your own lunch, ready for the day’s adventures. Dinner is served at 7.30pm, offering delicious, wholesome meals to enjoy together as a group. The dining room is located in a charming Savoyard barn, just a stunning 5-minute walk from the accommodation building — the perfect stroll to start and end your day. Dietary requirements can be catered for — just let us know in advance. Vegan options are available, though we recommend bringing a few extra snacks if you have specific preferences.

TRAVEL: HOW TO GET TO SAMOENS

Getting Here We encourage guests to travel by train or car where possible — it’s more relaxing, more sustainable, and part of the adventure! By Train If you’re within range, the train is a fantastic option. We offer free local transfers for the first 8 guests who travel by train to Cluses (74). From the UK: Take an early Eurostar to Gare du Nord, Grab a quick Uber or taxi to Gare de Lyon, Catch the train to Cluses, arriving around 3pm. Many of our guests choose to spend Friday night in Paris and enjoy a more relaxed journey. Want to hire a car after your train journey? We recommend travelling to Bourg-en-Bresse (about a 2-hour drive to Samoëns) or Geneva, then hiring a car. Be sure to check car hire prices before booking — we recommend Booking.com. By Car Driving is a great option if you’re within range. Samoëns is just 1 hour east of Geneva. From Southern England: It’s roughly a 10-hour drive, Budget around £450 return for Eurotunnel, tolls, and fuel (the ferry is a little cheaper). Our favourite stopover: The lovely Val Moret Spa Motel — great rooms (around €100 for 3–4 people), superb spa, and delicious dinners. By Plane The nearest airport is Geneva, just a 1-hour drive from Samoëns. If flying, we strongly recommend renting a car from the Swiss side of Geneva Airport — it’s more straightforward and better equipped for mountain travel. Again, we recommend Booking.com for car hire deals. Need advice on planning your journey? Feel free to get in touch — we’re happy to help.

ITINERARY

Day 1 | ARRIVAL

Dinner

Guests arrive at the Outdoor Centre from 4pm onwards. If you’re prearranged local transport, Agnieszka will meet you at Cluses Station around 3pm and bring you to Samoëns.

Once everyone has arrived and settled into their rooms, we’ll ease into the week with some icebreakers and gentle team-building — it’s a relaxed way to get to know the other families and start feeling at home.

If there’s time (and energy!) before dinner, you might even fancy a swim at the lake, just a short stroll away.

In the evening, we’ll share our first meal together at the Outdoor Centre, ready to begin the adventure.

Day 2 | WHITE WATER RAFTING

Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Today, we set off on our first adventure — an exhilarating white water rafting trip through a spectacular alpine canyon. It’s the perfect way to dive straight into the wild beauty of the mountains, with plenty of laughter and teamwork along the way.

After rafting, we’ll enjoy a relaxed picnic in Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, a stunning natural amphitheatre of cliffs and waterfalls, recognised as one of the Wonders of the World.

For those feeling brave, there’s the chance to dip under a waterfall — refreshing, wild, and guaranteed to wake up your senses!

Day 3 | CANYONNING (Teen Trip)

Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Today we’ll dive into one of the most thrilling adventures of the week — an unforgettable canyoning experience in a spectacular mountain canyon. Expect crystal-clear pools, exhilarating abseils, and the pure joy of moving through this wild, watery playground.

In the afternoon, we slow the pace and head into the charming heritage village of Samoëns.

Day 4 | HUT TO HUT HIKE

Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Today we begin our 3-day hike into the mountains, leaving the valley behind and stepping into the vast, wild beauty of the high Alps.

We take our time — there’s no rush — allowing space to soak in the majesty of the landscape, breathe the crisp mountain air, and feel ourselves slow down, settle, and expand.

Along the way, we stop at a natural mountain spa — a hidden alpine pool where those who wish can take a bracing swim. The energy up here feels completely different to life down in the valley — spacious, raw, and quietly awe-inspiring.

Tonight, we stay in a rustic catered mountain refuge, sharing simple food, stories, and the magic of sleeping high in the mountains under a blanket of stars.

Day 5 | HUT 2

Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

After a cosy night in the mountain refuge, tired, happy, and perhaps smelling a little more “wild” than usual, we head to a stunning mountain lake. We often see Ibex and Marmotte and can do some wild climbs over incredible landscapes before arriving at the 2nd refuge in the early evening.

Day 6 | RETURN AND LAKE

Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

The journey back is filled with that wonderful sense of achievement — and maybe a few achey legs! We return to our vehicles and head back to the Outdoor Centre, arriving by around Noon.

There’s time to unwind, freshen up, and share stories lounging around the Samoens Lake, celebrating everything we’ve experienced so far.

Today, we intentionally slow the pace, giving everyone space to recharge and choose their own adventure.

For those feeling energised, there’s the option to try parapenting — a thrilling tandem mountain flight.

This is your day — as wild or as restful as you choose.

Day 7 | ROCK CLIMBING or FREE FAMILY DAY

Breakfast | Picnic | Dinner

Today Agneizka will run a taster rock climbing session at a local crag. Feel free to show up for a couple of hours and test your body and mind to the limits. You also have a chance to have a  chilled Family Day — a chance to create your own day and spend quality time together or with your new friends.

For those with energy to spare, there’s plenty of adventure still to be had (not included in our costs)— you could head out on a mountain biking adventure.

If you’re ready to take it easy, you may want to head to Annecey, the Venice of the Alps.

In the evening, we all come back together for a final farewell — often ending the night with a fire on the river bank. It’s the perfect way to wrap up an unforgettable week of adventure, connection, and shared memories.

Day 8 | FAREWELL

Breakfast

All good things must come to an end — for now!We need to leave the chalet by 10am, with hugs, goodbyes, and plenty of promises to see each other again. Many of our families return year after year — once you've experienced La Source, it tends to stay with you.Farewell until next time!
