WHAT TO EXPECT

Imagine a magical week with your family, where the children blossom (and don't even ask for their tech!) and in which you are totally re-Sourced! That is our goal.
We will take you to parts of the Alps that even the locals rarely see, but beyond the majestic scenery and the activities there is a very special warmth and energy on the trips; a sense of being able to just 'be'.. a sense of belonging.
This week enables you to connect with yourself, your family and nature and gives everyone time to re-SOURCE, re-WILD and re-CONNECT.

WHO IS IT FOR

We welcome all families; trad, single parent, same sex, grandparents, blended, international.. all are welcome. We try to ensure a compatible age range and group on each trip. The community is such a strong part of the week! This trip attracts a wonderful and interesting crowd. Many lifelong friends are made and families often come back again and again!

There is a magical bond created by sliding down leafy banks, sharing stories as the sun sets over the mountains and watching your children squeal as they dive under a glacial waterfall...

This trip is catered specifically towards a 5 to 11 age range.

ACCOMMODATION

We are very lucky to be able to stay at a 5* Chalet with a fantastic 20 metre salt water pool and a garden. It sleeps 16 in 6 rooms and is very spacious with many chill out areas so you can always find a quiet spot. There is also a sauna, hot tub, mini gym and a climbing wall at the chalet. The chalet is very well equipped with a washing machine and dryer, and you will be provided with towels, soaps, hair dryers, etc..

We allocate rooms on a first come, first serve basis. There are 2 family rooms that sleep 4 people and the other 4 rooms are twins and doubles. All of the rooms are en suite and most have balconies or french doors into the garden.

Check out the photos of the chalet below.
THE FOOD

Our cooking crew are joyful souls who dance and sing in the kitchen! They indulge us with delicious, healthy meals with ingredients sourced as locally and organically as possible. All our meals are vegetarian and dietary requirements can be catered for. Meat can be requested, but our chefs take great pleasure in convincing the most ardent 'meatatarians' that vegetarian food can be delicious and substantial!

TRAVEL: HOW TO GET TO SAMOENS
DRIVING
If you live within driving range, we recommend driving as you will need transport in Samoens! Samoens is 1 hour East of Geneva.
It's a 10 hour drive from Southern England. Budget around £450 return for the Eurotunnel, tolls and fuel. The Ferry is a little less expensive.

Our favourite place to stay en route is the spa motel The Val Moret. Rooms are around €100 for 3 or 4 people and the Spa and Dinners are superb!

TRAIN
Again, if you are in range, the train is a great way to travel.
Saskia, your host, can offer free local transport for the first family of up to 5 people, who come by train... in which case, you need to get to Cluses 74 station by around 3pm on Saturday.

If you want to take the train and hire a car, we recommend you get the train to Bourg en Bresse (a 2 hour drive to Samoens).. but do check out the rental car offers before you book. Try RentalCars.

PLANE
The nearest airport is Geneva. Please rent a car from the Swiss side of the airport as it is a lot more straight forward. Samoens is a 1 hour drive from Geneva Airport. Our Irish guests often fly in to Lyon.

THE BOOKING PROCESS
1. Feel free to email or call Saskia to ask any questions.
2. Check travel to Samoens.
3. Click on the Book Now button, you will be ask to fill out a confidential questionnaire and have space to ask any more questions.
4. If you want to go ahead, Saskia will send you a £50pp deposit invoice and payment link. The balance is payable 3 months before the trip.
5. You will receive a Welcome Letter with all the details you might need; directions, packing list, etc.. and a month before the trip we set up a Whats App group for the week.

We'll expereince a thrilling white water rafting adventure through a stunning canyon and if there is time we will head to a Wonder of France for a late lunch and take a dunk under a waterfall.

Today is a semi- free day. We organise a Rock Climbing lesson. The price varies according to how many people choose to join in but it's usually around 25 Euros pp. Sometimes families choose to drive 45 minutes to Annecy to explore the beautiful ancient city. There is no lunch or dinner today so you can explore local restaurants and village vibe!

Day 5 | MOUNTAIN REFUGE

Day 7 | FREE FAMILY DAY
