What's it about?

Our Half Term Family Ski Yoga and Adventure Holiday is completely unique!

Imagine a ski holiday with off the beaten track adventures into the Magical Winter wonderland.

Up to 13 families live communally, for a week, sharing meals, activities and stories.

The week has been described as 'CommUnity in Action'!

The Accomodation

Each family has their own spacious en suite room. Every room has stunning views and there are plenty of balconies that look out over the breathtaking valley.

The week of the  11-18th February, 2023 we are in a modern chalet L'Arfeuille with 13 en suite family rooms. There are 2 lounge/kitchen areas. The yoga/ cinema room is downstairs.

The chalets are in a quiet hamlet surrounding by forests, streams and pastures, perfect for tabogonning and safe adventuring.

Meals

The dining hall is a 5 minute walk along a breathtaking pathway.

Meals are buffet style with plenty of choices. Breakfast is served at 8-9am. You create your picnic from the breakfast buffet.

If you have young children or teens and would rather not add 10 minutes of walking to your morning routine, there are kitchens in both chalets and you are welcome to self cater for breakfast and lunch. There are plenty of restaurants on the Mountain for lunch but watch out as costs add up! (There is an option on the booking form to deduct £70pp if you take care of your own breakfasts and  lunches).

Dinner will always be shared communally in a cosy dining room at 6.30pm and the children will be free to wonder down to the shared games room after dinner to play ping pong or baby foot  or to our private chill out zone where we will set up a cinema room while the parents have a glass of wine and continue to chat the night away.

The Skiing

This Half Term Family Ski Holiday is in the Grand Massif ski area which offers 270km of skiing.

The Vercland ski lift is 7 minutes walk to and from the chalet. It is possible to drive if you have your own vehicle but most people walk.

A new Doppelmayr 10 seated telecabine whizzes us up to the vast ski area at Samoens 1600m in 7 minutes. There is a bus to run you down to the beginners area which adds a bit of faffing time so we recommend this trip as best for those who can master a green run.

There is a beautiful wide and tree lined run back to the bottom of the ski lift. If you don't want to walk the 7 minutes back to the chalet with your skis, you can leave them in a lock up at the top of the lift.

Ski Lessons

During the day, everyone chooses what they do; skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, ski touring, etc…

We are partnering with a private local ski school called Zig Zag. They have a great track record for lovely instructors and FUN lessons and they cap their classes at 8 people so you make real progress quickly.

They offer 2.5 hours of lessons over 4 days from Sunday to Wednesday 9.15 to 11.45 and the cost is @ €210 per person. For Childcare over the lunch hour budget around €350. Please note that ski lessons and childcare needs to be booked well in advance! You will receive details in early October.

Yoga

Each morning we start the day with an optional yoga class led by a professional yoga teacher.

Activities

Each day we will offer a unique and magical nature connecting adventures to suit all ages.

We hunt for beavers along the river and learn all about them around a fire roasting marshmellows.

We go to Sixt Fer a Cheval, a Wonder of France and snow shoe to a magical place full of icefalls.

If the snow is suitable, we will build igloos and maybe even an igloo village and the kids might be able to take their dinner in there!

We taboggan right outside the chalet.

We walk in silence under the moon.

We play family hide and seek in the forest lit by pagan torches.

We ask all musicians to bring their instruments for jamming sessions and we often have a mini Rave/dance party on one of the nights
